We are thrilled to announce that the first KEAC-BSR-book ‘Europe and the Black Sea Region. A History of Early Knowledge Exchange (1750–1850)’ has just been published with LIT. Please follow this link for more information and the open access E-Book!

The International University Seminar for Balkan Studies and Specialization to the South-West University “Neofit Rilski”, Blagoevgrad is organizing a workshop in the framework of KEAC-BSR’s fourth work package on “Scientific Knowledge – Autonomy, Dependence, Resistance”. The workshop will take place at SW-University Blagoevgrad on 18.-19. April 2019. The CfP is available here and we invite you to submit your proposals by 1 March 2019.

On 11.-12. October 2018 we will have a workshop on “Regional, National, and Local Identities in the Black Sea Region”. You can find the workshop’s program as well as the abstracts to the keynotes of Ștefan Dorondel (“Modernization” of Nature and State Building in Southeast Europe) and Victor Rizescu (Refashioning the Nation along Vertical Fault-Lines: Romanian Entanglements of Corporatist Projects and Policies) here.

We have just concluded our first KEAC-BSR summer school! Over the past nine days researchers and students from six universities involved in the project got together at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University to work on “Multilingualism and the Role of Translation in Knowledge Globalisation”. You may find more info on the summer school’s program as well as more pictures from the last days here.
